Boise began acting in high school where he was cast in his first stage role as Purlie in Purlie Victorious. He went on to star in other roles such as Jesus in “Jesus Christ Superstar”, Walter Lee in “A Raisin in the Sun, Jim in “Big River” (for which he was awarded “Best Actor” by the Thalian Association) and Tony Kirby in “You Can’t Take it With You”.

Boise’s portrayal of Othello won 1st place in National Shakespeare Competition at NY’s Lincoln Center for which he was awarded a full scholarship intensive to study at England’s Oxford School of Drama. There he portrayed the title role of MacBeth.

One of his most exciting and challenging theatrical experiences, was when Boise Holmes landed the title role of “Mufasa” in the German production of Disney’s The Lion King, in which the show was performed completely in German. Landing in the States after a year he was asked to return to Germany to play “Mufasa” for the show’s 10yr anniversary. He also played “Scar” in The Festival of The Lion King in Hong Kong.
